Rudy
For regular readers of this blog, I have to tell you that Rudy was killed this evening. Hit by a car outside Jane's house. It was she who came to tell me. The occupants of the car came too, which I thought was very brave of them. They were probably going too fast (they all do along this stretch, which is a nice straight bit with a 30mph limit), but at least they stopped.

Oh, bugger.
Brave of the drivers. Decent. Sigh. Poor Rudy.

Oh Leigh. I'm so sorry.
Yes, that was decent of the drivers.
Oh god, I am so sorry. That is awful. I really feel for you. Huge hugs x
Oh Leigh. How awful for you all. I'm so sorry. Big hugs.

Oh no. So sorry Leigh :o(
Oh no. So sad to read this. It happened to us too, it's really shocking.
Hope your kids aren't too inconsolable.

I'm so sorry to hear this, Leigh, but it was good of the drivers to stop. I hope the children aren't too upset. Tell them their 'Aunty Sally' sends her love.
That's awful. So, so sorry.
Poor Rudy. Poor you and family.

Oh, Leigh, I'm so sorry to hear that. Sending hugs. xx
That's so sad, I'm really sorry ):
I'm so sorry!
*HUGS*
You don't know me (just moved in) but I'm saddened by your news. Every time I get into my car it's my dearest wish that I get to where I'm going without hurting anyone or anything. I'd be inconsolable if someone hit my cat and deeply remorseful if I hurt anyone else's pet :-(
Sorry to hear this. TFX
Oh sorry to hear about Rudy. :(
Atm least they had the decency to come see you in person and not just scarper.
Oh I am so sorry Leigh. Poor Rudy.
I am glad the drivers came to apologise though. We have never hit an animal but if we did I would have to stop and find out where he/she lived. It's the right thing to do.
Hugs for you and your family.
Thank you, everyone, for your kind-hearted comments. The kids are coping really well, and their self-inspired optimism (Rudy's a cat-ghost now, and that means we can see him in our dreams) is remarkably good for the rest of us, and I have been grateful for it. I have been bewildered by how sad I am - more so, I confess than when I have lost cats through old age. Rudy was four.
So, folks with pets... make the most of the vomit under the desk/in the slippers/on the bed; you know you'll miss it when it's gone.
And slow down a bit, everyone, will you?
Just for me.
Your last comment there Leigh brought tears to my eyes. So sad.
I promise that every fur ball, every cat scratch and every time my cat annoys me, I'll think I'm lucky to have him cos I am.
Cat-Ghosts. That makes me smile for I have witnessed one, for real. For fear of sounding like a prized twat I'll not tell you the story but I believe in them.
